Introducing "Wash And Fold Laundry Service", a new project from the mind of Ian Rios.
Ian Rios, a New Jersey native and current resident of Kentucky, is a DJ and producer with a lifelong passion for electronic music. His love for synthesizers led him to discover more electronic based artists, building an expansive song library that spans genres such as jazz, 80's pop, ambient, death metal, and more. He has collected everything from 90s house and tech to mainstream EDM and avant-garde machine noises, which inspire his own unique sound.
Ian eventually learned to DJ in college for on-campus shows and off-campus parties through a music production club. His passion for crate digging and creating playlists to expose people to new music led him to start experimenting with mashups, remixes, and eventually, original tracks.
As he built out his catalog of music through his various other personas (whythough?, shell artist, svnteen), Ian became interested in more experimental sounds, harder basses, and more technical rhythm patterns. He drew inspiration from the music he grew up with and loved, and attempted to blend all kinds of techniques to create new ways of imagining modern club and techno music in his own style.
In addition to his music production skills, Ian also picked up some graphic design skills to help out the other artists releasing music on the label. He is passionate about creating a complete experience for his listeners, not just in terms of sound but also in visual aesthetics.
Ian Rios realized the importance of mastering his own tracks and perfecting his mixing skills to achieve the sound he was striving for. He devoted himself to learning everything he could about the technical aspects of music production, taking courses and attending workshops to refine his craft. By combining his technical expertise with his creative talents, he coined "Wash And Fold Laundry Service" as a new persona that allows him to express his true self while producing music he is proud of.
