Rules:

1. Deadline: February 1st, 2021

2. If you use samples, they must be royalty free.

3. Theme: Romance and Random

4. Romance: You should create a track that embodies what you love about music; perhaps this means you use your favorite samples or recordings, make a song in your favorite genre, use your most loved ideas in music as inspiration for your song / lyrics, etc.)

5. Random: Your song must include a randomly generated element; perhaps this means you randomly generate midi notes, use automation to randomly design sounds as time progresses in your song, click and point with a blindfold on in your DAW, roll dice for every time you face a choice when producing, etc.

6. You cannot use "romance" or "random" in your track title, as it is the album name.

7. Please render your file properly. It should be a downloadable 16 bit 44.1Khz wav file.

8. Submit your final track mixed and mastered below!

Recommendations:

Use random elements creatively in the structure of your song. Think outside the box; even though "random" sounds chaotic, your role as a music producer is to make a good sounding song, not just random low effort garbage. The better your random element sounds within the context of your arrangement, more chances you have of your song being selected in the final rendition.

Members of WRC will be participating in the competition, as well as judging the tracks submitted. Our goal is to include as many tracks as possible, so we will probably not turn away a track unless it does not follow the rules or fit the criteria for the album. All proceeds made on this album go to the record label and are put towards promotion of the album and other releases.
